Fans have been calling for this radical move over recent weeks.
it is thought Chairman elect Dean Hoyle is behind the dismissals, Andrew Watson is also rumoured to have left his post.
This paves the way for Aidy Boothroyd to be taking over!!

Time for everyone to start banging on for Murphy, who is over rated, may i add, he didnt even discover andy booth our only real success from the youth team, it was actually a Mr George Mulhall, (ex halifax manger in there promotion from the confrence) but murphy took plaudits….we dont want a fella like that in charge!

Dear oh dear jj83 has started already,(don the kevlar)if its got to the state where we are prepared to slag Gerry Murphy off (a finer man you couldnt find),before ever his exemplorary name has been mentioned,and with the ink still wet on stans death warrant at that!!! Well done, we’ve driven off our contacts into other football clubs, who does Dean know? nobody, I’m all in favour of supporting our team, but when things like this happen it’s ridiculous.
I for one am ashamed to be a town fan, we turn on anyone that can’t create a miracle with our team. look at all the promoted teams…how long have the managers been there?…2-3 years, it takes time to build a team.
Looks like we’re heading one way, one man in charge or everything, that’s what Dean wants….

We all know 80’s that you thought some of us were wrong for saying Stan should go but opinions are like bums, we all have one……. While we’re on that subject I totally agree with you 80’s and I dont normally!! lol……Gerry Muphy is a saint and yes, every1 is entitled to their opinion but I struggle to understand how a “town fan” can say such crap about Sir Gerry. JJ83 you are totallyh out of order and should hang your hed in shame. Yes, probably not the guy for it full time but the last 2 time Gerry has stood in he has done a sterling ob and the academy is a credit to him. You really are so wrong there pal. I admit I was calling for stans head for reasons I have already stated and yes, its a tough life being a Town Manager (almost as tough as being a fan!!). Town fans are fickle and they expect a lot, even more so in this our centenery season. We have a chairman elect who has put in loads of HIS OWN money and if one of his Managers at his other successful empire were doing such a poor job by not getting results after being allowed to recruit his own work force, I’m sure an exit plan would have been made for him/her. Whilst were on the subject of boo boys, I agree Jim Goodwin has had a grueller recently after being made to play outof position but we should never ever ever boo our players onto the field…………THAT IS WRONG AND DISGUSTING………..
550, what good have these contacts done then? Were 16th in the league and did much better before we had these “contacts”. Were only that “high” because we won a game on saturday against a terrible side and some would argue that perhaps we shouldnt have won t anyway. Contacts dont win games. The thing that wins games are quality players who are coached trained and managed to play to their ability. Look how many contacts Lou macari had and also (and yes, I know he’s doing OK now) Steve Bruce. Both had good contacts but couldnt do it for us.
I’m not trying to blame our fans here for this, but how often when we don’t get our own way we get rather fickle and boo our own team, like when everyone wanted Martin Allen (may I add an absolute nutter, whats he done at Cheltenham btw?) nothing, Yes I agree that Stan hasn’t made the bst of our team, but if you look at it now from last year it’s stronger, a good team doesn’t grow over night, I’d have thought at least till christmas would be fair.
You’re right, contacts don’t always have huge effects, but if you look at the few players that have done well, Liam Dickinson, leading the line very well, in from Derby, we wouldnt have got him other wise would we? Steve Jones from Burnley, amongst others they have done well.
Either way I would much rather prefer to have these contacts than not…wouldn’t you agree.
well 80’s. ok murphy has done well when he has come in a couple of times with town having nothing to play for at the time and if murphy is so amazing why do we produce mediocre to garbage players like nathan clark and the rest,alarming amounts of money are pumped into the academy for minimal returns, dont get me wrong we should develop youth, but my point is that he is not the man..not saying he has done a bad job just over rated in my opinion,and my statement before is fact with regards to boothy.murphy and booth are not in the same league when it comes to club men are they, to be fair!
with Contacts I did not only mean Stan Ternent btw. I mean Andrew Watson, with connections to a championship club and knowing people in football it can only help our club =]
Looks like we are now left with Deano for the time being…At the end of the day he is putting his money where his mouth is,and is the modern day saviour of this club..He looks to have given Andrew Watson enough rope to hang himself with,and with hindsight has now chosen to kick the box from under him…I firmly believe it is now critical for the good of our precious club that we all support Deano in the days ahead with his choice of manager,backroom staff,and any other ideas he has for taking this club forward…

Unless someone else can come in and help out I can’t see Dean solving our problems with just his money. It’s who u know in the game aswell.

jj83 dont forget that Gerry takes credit for Steadie and without his sale, we could have folded. I have a very good friend in a high place at town and most people at the club think Andrew Watson was a rigt T*s*er.
Dot forget a new manager will have contacts as well……..Footballs like that isn’t it. Dean Hoyle is a bit different to some of the millionaires that are currently choosing to spend their pocket money in a football team. Yes, hes a lightweight compared with say abromovich but HE IS A TOWN FAN. He’s not spending his kids inheritance to make a profit (although if he does then good luck to him!!) he’s spending it because he loves Town. That, I feel is a recipe for success. BTW, the biggest vote in stans team have been the crowd……….didn’t we sell 16550+ season tickets……well that means around 6000 people are currently voting with their feet!

I think the way all this has gone on just shows we never wanted to give Stan a chance, no he didn’t do a good job whilst the short period he was here, but from the early days everyone dismissed the club.

he’s just a town fan with a lot of money, he doesn’t know how to run a club alone, he needs help with it.
