HUDDERSFIELD Town were left to pay the penalty after Lee Novak saw his 88th minute penalty saved by home keeper David Martin.

The Terriers had bossed the majority of the game and found themselves a goal up after 37 minutes through Scott Arfield who slotted home a rebound after big striker Alan Lee’s header had hit the foot of the post.

MK Dons fought back after the break and after some good pressure Dean Lewington, once linked with a move to Town, equalised for the Dons. The goal came from a corner and Lewington was on hand to tap in the rebound after Ian Bennett had made a good save from MacKenzie’s header.

Town had other chances to win the game with Gary Roberts most notably having an effort cleared off the line, when it looked like he had scored.

The game reached boiling point towards the end with players going into challenges full blooded, which all culmilated in Gary MacKenzie being shown a straight red card after having stamped on Alan Lee’s ankle and then retaliating with a headbutt in the melee that ensued afterwards.

Unfortunately for Huddersfield, Lee Novak, couldn’t convert the penalty that resulted and the game finished one a piece.
