Paolo Di Canio is the latest name hotly tipped to be the next Huddersfield Town manager, as the search for a successor to Simon Grayson continues.

Sources claim that Di Canio will be officially approached this week for discussions with Huddersfield supremo Dean Hoyle.

The rumour is certainly fuelled by Di Canio’s seemingly falling out with the Swindon board after star player Matt Ritchie was sold behind his back.

That prompted Di Canio to release a statement saying he felt his position was ‘untenable’

There also appeared to be an emotional goodbye to the Swindon fans in their last game on Sky, a 1-1 draw with Crawley.

Di Canio is the latest name linked with Huddersfield and he is currently among the favorites.

It has been no secret that Town’s number 1 target is Nigel Adkins, but its reported despite a meeting that the former Saints boss may want a break from the game leaving Huddersfield with a decision to make, play the waiting game or appoint someone who wants the job now.

Adkins is still despite this the bookies favourite, followed by Mark Robins, Ritchie Barker, Steven Pressley, Owen Coyle and Paolo Di Canio.

Fans have mixed opinions on all of the names linked, but the majority are unanimous in their opinion that they don’t want Gary Megson near the Huddersfield hot-seat.

Megson’s odds were slashed after he was spotted at the Terriers game at Derby in a 3-0 defeat on Saturday.

So for now the manager merry-go-round continues to spin.

There is still time for you to vote in our poll and cast your vote for who should be the new Huddersfield Town manager.

it’s all a long drawn out process at the moment, I was in the camp that seen as DH sacked Grayson, he must have had someone lined up, evidently that wasn’t the case. Naieve? Or just Grayson was that bad he had, had enough? either way im sure we will be better off, DH knows what is best for this club & he is a fan too.
