HTFC – Town draw Dover in FA Cup round 3

Huddersfield Town have been handed a home draw against non-league Dover in the third round of this seasons FA Cup

The minnows have already dumped league sides Gillingham and Aldershot out of the competition but now face a stiff test at The Galpharm, where the Terriers ran out comfortable winners against Macclesfield Town 6-0 in the last round.

Dover chairman Jim Parmenter told BBC Radio Kent he was disappointed with the draw:-

‘You hope to get one of the big six away and have a big pay day,’

‘Huddersfield are a big club, have a big 24,000 all-seater stadium so we’re looking forward to it.’

‘Realistically Gillingham and Aldershot should have beaten us on the form books and league status but it’s the FA Cup and we all know that great things have happened in the FA Cup,’

‘When you’re the underdog in the cup you’ve always got a chance of getting something out the game.

‘Just getting to the third round of the FA Cup, beating two league sides on the way, without conceding a goal – it’s been fantastic.

‘It’s been great for the town as well – there’s not a lot going on in the town at the moment and it’s raised a lot of people’s aspirations and has bought a lot of joy to a lot of people.’

So Oggy’s prediction on Saturday that we would draw Dover comes true!!

This certainly gives us a great chance of making the fourth round, so long as the cameras don’t decide to turn up for this one!
