HTFC – Leicester take on Peltier

I popped over to Vital Leicester to ask site editor SvensAmbition what he thought about their new recruit.

———————————–

1) How has the signing of Peltier gone down with Leicester fans?

It seems favourable so far, as said he’s got some big boots to fill following Kyle Naughton, but it seems very few people have a bad word to say about him so most are looking forward to seeing how he can fit into the squad and whether his performances can match his hype.

At least for me I prefer the fact we are looking at younger players with potential but taking them on permanently, instead of looking for short term stop gaps either with elder players or loans from Premiership clubs, so he has the thumbs up from me.

2) Now you have had time to research the player and seen opinions of Town fans are you happy with the signing?

Yes, as above I much prefer us targeting players like Peltier who have shown they have a good talent but also still have years left to learn and become even better in the game. Going off what I’ve heard from yourself and other HTFC fans, it does seem that the fee is almost a steal given how well you rate him, and as the buying club there’s nothing better than grabbing a relative youngster with potential and saving a few bob in the process, as opposed to paying over the odds.

Time will obviously tell if Peltier can make the step up and fits at the club, but the signs so far sound promising.

3) What are your ambitions for next season.

With the money we have at the club and the staff automatic promotion has to be the aim, although obviously nobody would turn their noses up if we got their via the play offs, but the Top 2 really should be aim now that Sven has had a good few months to assess the squad, will get a full pre season and we should be looking to start strongly with that in mind.

4) Who else are you looking to buy this summer (no more HTFC players please.)

Never say never and all that, recommend anyone? 🙂

Well Kasper Schmeichel is rumbling on at the moment, there are strong press links to Nicky Maynard and David Nugent, as well as the obvious links to our former loanees, Emile Heskey and Yakubu.

Those are the obvious ones doing the rounds, but Kasper was a little left field from Sven, so I’m expecting a few more left field signings that surprise the fans as well as the press.

and finally anything else you may wish to say…

Good luck for the upcoming season, and we’ll take care of Peltier for you. If the press are right, the better he does for us, the better your bank balance will look come the end of it, so it’s in all our interests for him to grab the headlines by storm come August!
