Jeremy Helan has been handed the one match ban that he should have had, had ref Mick Russell correctly dismissed the Manchester City winger on loan at Sheffield Wednesday.

The FA took the retrospective action after Sheffield Wednesday appealed and won the case to remove the yellow card from Michail Antonio.

Helan of course picked up a yellow for diving and then for a foul on Hammill, which caused a fracas on the bench, as everyone rightly awaited the inevitable red-card.

Helan will now miss the Owls FA Cup game with the MK Dons.

It’s caused perhaps further controversy as the Manchester City loanee doesn’t have permission by his parent club to feature for the Owl’s in the FA Cup, so he would have been sitting out the game anyway.

Give your heads a shake FA.
