On Sunday evening Huddersfield Town confirmed that goalkeeper Joel Coleman had signed a new deal with the club.

The 21 year old stopper joined the club from Oldham Athletic in the summer of 2016 and in eight starts and two substitute appearances in his debut year at the club he kept five clean sheets.

His new contract runs until the summer of 2019 with Huddersfield having a further 12 month option on him at that point.

Speaking to the Official Site head coach David Wagner was delighted to see the young stopper sign up once again.

‘During his first year at the Club, Joel has shown what a capable young goalkeeper he is. He performed very well every time he came into the team, including in a big pressure Play-Off semi-final against Sheffield Wednesday, and we`re delighted to have his future secured to the Club for a long time. Joel still has a lot of space to improve and that is what he must continue to do, in every training session and in every game.’

We’ll no doubt hear from the player himself in due course over the coming few days.
