Bradford City insist they will pay the £50,000 owed to Western Stars, as part of the Nahki Wells transfer deal that saw the clubs star striker join local rivals Huddersfield Town for a club record £1.3m in January.

Last week it was revealed that Bradford had failed to pay (see here) Western Stars, but Bradford have rebuffed the claims and have requested a bill!

Bradford Citry’s director of Operations, David Baldwin, spoke to the examiner:-

“How can we generate the payment when we haven`t got a bill?”

“Any international payments have to go through the Football Association`s clearing house first.

“Our accounts department have made contact with the FA and attempted to get in touch with Dandy Town.

“But until we get sent the invoice from Bermuda, we cannot send any money.”

Perhaps a delaying tactic but at least for Western Stars & Dandy Town’s sake it looks set to be resolved soon

Nahki Wells meanwhile continues to impress for Huddersfield securing four assists in last week’s derby win vs Barnsley
